Gateway to Mandarin
One of the most popular Chinese classes conducted at the Singapore Chinese Chamber Institute of Business (SCCIOB), Gateway to Mandarin is attended by thousands of learners each year.

This 3-level course is developed after much research and analysis of the language habits of learners. It is designed with due consideration on interconnectivity between sections, units and across different levels, accumulation of vocabulary and relevance to real life situations. Adopting standard Mandarin (Putonghua) as the benchmark and adapting it for local usage, Gateway to Mandarin leads beginners systematically through the process of foreign language acquisition, and helps learners build a firm foundation in the Chinese language.

PLACEMENT TEST:
Gateway to Mandarin Level 1
• Beginner who CANNOT speak Mandarin at all.
• Japanese, Caucasians, Malays, Indians, American Chinese, Australian Chinese, Hong Kongers and others.
 
Entrance test is NOT required.
   
Gateway to Mandarin Level 2 & Level 3
• Who can speak very little Mandarin.
• Who have learnt Mandarin for a brief period (e.g. about 3 months).
• Who can understand a Chinese dialect.
